Marketing (BUS3002)Course Description
This project-based and collaborative course examines the field of marketing and its essential role in all aspects of business. Topics covered include product planning and development, pricing strategies, distribution methods, sales techniques, promotion, and digital media marketing. The first semester revolves around creating a strategic marketing plan for a real company with a specific target market. During 2nd semester, students will utilize the marketing principles to plan and create compelling projects related to sports, entertainment, travel/tourism, and current events. Related and recommended courses Most students take Business Orientation and Advertising before taking Marketing, but these are not required. Other recommended courses that will assist students with technology in this course are Marketing Technology, Visual Media, and Multimedia Innovation |

In 2015 Neuqua Valley Marketing partnered with Aurora City Council and the Chamber of Commerce to give the Fox Valley Mall a new look. Students from all 3 area high schools gave their input for improving dining, shopping, and entertainment options at the mall. The winning team was again selected from Neuqua Valley and continues to give input to the re-structuring of the mall. Read here for more information on the project. Mission 60564
In 2014 Neuqua Valley Marketing partnered with Naperville City Council and the Chamber of Commerce to re-do the Naper Crossings shopping center located at 95th and Rt. 59. All 3 area high schools gave their input to improve dining, shopping, and entertainment options in the area. A final team from each high school presented their marketing plans to City Council and NVHS students were selected as the winning team! Read here for more information on the project. Tom & Eddie's Burger Challenge![]() The inaugural Tom & Eddie's Burger Challenge took place in the Spring of 2013 among the Neuqua Valley Marketing classes.
Students from each Marketing class designed their own burger or sandwich to be featured on the menu at the restaurant on May 13th. The top designes were the Backyard BBQ Chicken Sandwich, The Loaded Cheese Fry Burger, and “The Kick” burger with jalapenos and peanut butter. Customers could vote for their favorite burger by ordering it off the menu at the restaurant. 10% of proceeds come back to the school and the winning burger will be featured on the Tom & Eddie’s menu for a month and will compete against the top burger from Waubonsie Valley and Metea Valley! The winner for 2013 was Mrs. Knuth's 4th period Marketing class with their creation - the Backyard BBQ Chicken Sandwich!
