College Test Prep  (BUS3004)

This course is designed for juniors preparing to take the SAT, PSAT, and ACT, and desire improvement in reading, vocabulary, grammar, math, and science test-taking skills through individualized plans. Emphasis is placed on improving test-taking skills and learning techniques to improve success on standardized tests. Diagnostic testing is used to determine student strengths and weaknesses. Their progress is bench-marked and re-assessed throughout the semester.

A major focus is to increase student confidence and comfort level with standardized tests, including the PSAT/SAT and  ACT, and raise test scores by building skills. Another goal is to help students gain a sense of the role these tests play in the college entrance process. Beyond concrete exam scores, students will develop familiarity with the test content to prepare for the actual tests and develop strategies for standardized test taking.
